Many years ago, I totally flummoxed Jimmy Doohan (AKA Scotty) by asking a question about the opening scene of ST VI, in which Sulu breaks a teacup. "OK, it's the 23rd century. We've got warp drive. We've got transparent aluminum. Why the heck don't we have shatterproof porcelain?"
He was left completely speechless & ended up simply shaking his microphone at me.
