Some links I wanted to share (that were sent to me in email):

• The Cityscape Project -- what city do you want to see out your window?
• Toonopedia "A Vast Repository of Toonological Knowledge", basically an encyclopaedia of cartoons, comic strips, comic books, etc.
• Rocklopedia Fakebandica, an encyclopaedia of fictional bands/singers from television shows and movies.
• A congressman of the Republic of Peru introduced a bill to require government agencies in Peru to use open-source software. The local arm of Microsoft wrote a letter to try to talk him out of it, and he wrote a letter (translated to English here) shooting them down point by point, which makes some marvelous arguments in favour of open-source and exposes the anti-open-source propoganda for the FUD it is. I just waded through the 229 messages in my mailbox from the past week that weren't sorted into the probably-spam folder or any of the various mailing list folders that Procmail sorts my mail into for me. There were thirteen copies of the Klez worm in those 229 messages. On the other hand, I haven't seen many copies of SirCam lately.

I somehow came up with a really unusual texture for the omelette-like thing I made for dinner. Quite nice but I'm not sure how I did it.

My house is chirping at me! That means it's happy and trying to be friendly, right? <innocent look>

(No, it really means that I need to change the battery in one of the smoke detectors, but my answer is more fun. So there.)
