The probability of my being directly harmed by foreign terrorists is fairly small. (The probability of Americans being harmed in the next few years is high. The probability of my number coming up out of the whole US population is small.) The odds of my being harmed indirectly through economic fallout from foreign terrorist activity are somewhat higher.

The odds of having my civil rights infringed by my own government again are pretty close to unity.

Tell me again what I'm supposed to be afraid of?
