Some of the political links I include are ones that I very much agree with. Others I'm still making up my mind about, but figured they add something important to discussion. Anyhow, I'll try not to lake the politics stuff take over completely...
- The CIA and the search for Noah's Ark"
- For the person who has everything, something to cover it with: Vibrator Cozies
- Oooh! water on Mars! (Actually, a good news/bad news situation: "But it also means that it would be difficult to make Mars habitable in the future because there is less carbon dioxide there than previously thought, and carbon dioxide is what is needed to trap heat and warm the planet up."
- An error message worth glancing at. (Not a 404 page this time.)
- Two parodies of the Nigerian Scam (another explanation of it here, for anyone who has somehow escaped learning about it already): A Valentine form-letter generator, and a Kingdom of Rohan version of the spam.
- I didn't get an image in to the Pentax Users Gallery this month, but I was absolutely delighted by this cat photo by fellow Pentax-Discuss Mailing List member Steve Larson. Impressive timing, too! (I may be biased, but I think the Pentax Users Gallery is worth checking out every month. There's always something that'll make me stop flipping through the images and just stare for a while and not want to let that photo off my screen. Steve's photo isn't the only one worth a second and third look this month.)
- My government being very scary again, this time being dangerously stupid about cryptography
- "The Worst Breakfast Ever"
- A different intrepretation of Stonehenge
- A couple of takes on current events: "Please Bomb Seatle" by Geov Parrish, and the letter to the editor of The Observer by Terry Jones that has been circulating the net since he wrote it.
- Scary legislation -- more fallout of the "War On [concept]" way of labelling things that I think is so dangerous ... in this case the WOSD. A little of the rhetoric sounded inflated to me, but I fear that the conclusions of the writers make scary amounts of sense.
- One more political link, this one from the mayor of Baltimore, about taxes and terror
- No reason for including this except that it brought back childhood memories with a smile: lyrics from my youth. I remember how disconcerting it was when a shopping mall reworked it into a commercial a few years ago.
- I wondered how long it'd take for someone to find a way to make classes at The Pennsic War count for real-world credit in "mundania". (And hey, it's an excuse to include a link to my own web page about Pennsic.)
And now this has gotten longer than I'd intended it to be. I've still got links to include, and some URLs I haven't checked yet to look at to see whether to post or not, so maybe I'll get around to doing another of these this week. If not, they'll get posted eventually.
