(For anyone coming in late, I didn't invent the name for this type of entry. I stole it from [livejournal.com profile] almeda.)

I still have bookmarks, notes, editor buffers with partially commented lists of links, and browser windows with pages I mean to get back to displayed in them, for eventually collecting most of the political stuff into one post, and space shuttle related links into another. In the meantime, here's another normal "link sausage" compilation:

  • Peace Meme
  • Scientists say rare Brazilian monkey 'talks' like humans: "Scientists say a rare Brazilian monkey has speech patterns that are similar to that of human beings." The (very short) article also notes their interesting social structure: "Muriquis live in groups that are led by the best-loved - rather than the strongest - monkey."
  • This bizarre article about a cricket game from Guardian Unlimited is entertaining for reasons that mostly don't require an interest in cricket.
  • Catty (often justifiably so) comments about baby names
  • George W. Queeg -- editorial from The New York Times 14 March 2003.
  • Steak And BJ Day (14 March) is a holiday I didn't know about before... (personally I prefer HersheyHallmarkDeBeer's day, but Steak&BJ day amused me despite it's stereotyping).
  • Related to this page from my last "Link Sausage" post, a proposal for choosing weapons inspectors (yeah, yeah, I know it's a bit late at this point...)
  • Just in case other folks find this as useful as I do: a table of all those "&XXX;" codes that you can use to insert non-ASCII characters (such as þorn, eð, and ê-with-circumflex) and HTML-reserved characters (such as "&", "<", and ">") into HTML documents (such as LiveJournal entries and comments). The few I use regularly are safely memorized, but when I need to look up an unfamiliar one I keep forgetting where I filed the bookmark and wind up doing a fresh Google or Altavista search...
  • As I mentioned to [livejournal.com profile] swy1974, I've been meaning to include this link since the most recent Blowfish mailing landed in my inbox: The Porn Clown Posse is, strangely enough, what its name sounds like. "[...] I mean clowns, real clowns, the ones that will spank you with a fish and squirt seltzer down your shorts (if you know what I mean and I think you do). The ones that scare little kids. [...] a loveable bunch of perverts who enjoy nothing more than group sex, occasional pain play, and riding around on tiny bicycles. Okay, maybe not the bicycles, but they sure look like they probably have tiny bicycles up on hooks on their garage walls, alongside the studded floggers and enema hoses. [...] The Posse is available for parties, business functions, bar mitzvahs, etc., with rates dependent upon what's requested." I'm somehow comforted by the knowledge that such a group exists. If my life is going to be as strange as my life tends to be, it's reassuring to know that there's a suitably strange world for me to be living in, y'knowwhatImean?
