my body is a mess; serious amounts of pain yesterday and this
morning, extremely stiff, crushing fatigue, poor sleep. even my
digestion is giving me trouble. fortunately,
anniemal
is here, looking after me. the cat is quite upset at the
presence of anniemal's poodle in the house, but she's hiding
a bit less, hissing less loudly when he gets close, basically
getting accustomed to him. still, she's going to be much
happier when he leaves again. hoping to feel well enough to
get out of the house later; for 3lf rehearsal if naught else.
trying to install news reader on anniemal's laptop, but can't
connect to her isp's news server; suspect that only works from
an ip addr in that isp's address range or something, which
would mean switching news servers whenever she plugs in her
computer at a different person's house, which seems kind of
stupid, so maybe my guess is wrong. dunno. work for 15-30
min at a time on something before i get dizzytired and have
to stop. behind on so many things ... and now my boss, who
didn't have any work for me for way too long, has pulled
the assignment that he finaly did have for me because i've
taken too long. financially i am screwed. (how come there
was no work back when i was feeling better than this and
looking for things to do? actually i know why, but it still
sucketh.
anywho, i've lots i wanted to write about and some fun link sausage coming, but figured i should let folks know why i'm quiet lately in case i don't get to the other things i wanted to post.
including a post about asking for help that i've been writing and erasing and struggling with for two months.
oh, and last night i tried to call in prescription refills and the pharmacy's voice mail box was full. kaiser seems to be trying to push people onto the automated touch-tone refill system, but that involves keying in lots of numbers that are too long to be reasonable for a ui with no damned backspace key. go deep enough into the process, and "hang up and start over" gets quite annoying. i hatesss it, i doessss. prefer to leave voice mail. (having to keep pulling phone from ear to type numbers, put phone back to ear to hear response, take phone from ear to type, repeat ad nauseum, is another annoyance. though i guess i could fix that by fetching the handsfree thingie from the car. i still say the touch-tone interface is just wrong for this particular application.)
more later, when i feel energetic enough to type w/ both hands and use the shift key more. not sure when ... hope today, maybe not.
