Eventually got to sleep this morning. Had a bizarre
dream that I really wanted to tell people about when I
woke up (rather clever time-travel plot, as I recall, but
dammit, I can't remember details now, because I went back
to sleep before writing it down). Got a massage from
anniemal that was much longer than planned.
(Not that I'm complaining, as long as she didn't mess up
her thumb again.) So far no sign of injury from
the accident. Looking at the car in daylight it does
appear that the impact was not as dramatic as it felt when
it happened: the front bumper is abraded in some places
and torn (it's plastic) in others, the wheel-well
is scuffed but not dented, my right front turn-signal lens
is cracked, and the (plastic) wheel-cover on the right
front wheel has a light blue stripe on it and is bent. I
haven't looked under the hood yet, but I think I may have
gotten off with only cosmetic damage to the car and only
shock and severe pissed-offedness personally. Shuffled
plans around a little more; ran back to Baltimore to fetch
garb for tomorrow evening (a gig with
Thrir Venstri Foetr / Three Left Feet) and drop off
film from Tuesday -- heading back to Arlington unless I feel
too tired for the drive after going up to the photo lab
(which has an after-hours drop slot). Plan to bring Perrine
back home on Saturday. I think she's afraid I'm going to
stuff her back in the cat-carrier when she sees me dressed
to go out.
I think I mentioned the
film that someone got processed for me as a late Christmas
present. I've been going through it, seeing what's there,
slowly getting the prints and slides labelled (Roll-ID, frame
number) ... I found a few shots of
The Homespun Ceilidh
Band performing in DC in 2002, photographed by
anusara. I also found some photos I shot in
2001 at a Thrir Venstri Foetr rehearsal when the musician I
wrote about in September (9th paragraph of that entry),
a former member of Thrir Venstri Foetr who died last year,
was still living in Maryland and still playing with us. That
was a slightly surreal moment as I shifted emotional gears.
Okay, I think I'm rested enough to get moving again. Wheee.
