Spotty connectivity today. Since 14:00 (according to email from the cron daemon) I've been unable to connect to my ISP's local number. I switched the PPP config file to use their DC number so I could download the last couple hours worth of mail (and post this), but I'm not going to leave it up because it's a long-distance call. I'll see 3LF folks at rehearsal. If the telco gets its circuits untangled (the message I get is "all circuits are busy") before then, I'll be back online.
I seem to be back online. Yay. [1] Maybe complaining publicly was a "Murphy spell".
To make this more than a "hey, I can talk again" entry, I'll include a link to a fabulous blog meta-entry: "Insert Snarky Title Here". (The followups really make it.)
And I'll note that posting a poll that attracts responses from a few folks I'd never heard of (in addition to a bunch of the people I'd hoped to hear from) amuses me. When I finally get caught up on my friends list, I'll have to peek at the journals of the unfamiliar respondents.
