Yesterday was a pretty good day health-wise, which is fortunate because otherwise I would not have coped with what a long day it was. (160 miles of driving at today's gas prices -- ouch.) Since I was already moving and already wearing boyclothes (medieval), I dropped in on my mother and brother. I also figured it didn't cost as much to add a leg to a trip to make it a triangle (Baltimore-Bowie-College Park-Baltimore) as to make a separate Bowie-and-back trip. But all in all I didn't get to bed until the wee hours and spent today paying for such a long day yesterday. I'm still feeling it.

This weekend is Balticon. I can't afford a room, nor really afford a membership, so I'll spend some time ghosting the lobby to hang out with friends I don't see often enough. But I'll also be splitting my time between there and the recording studio. So I'll make appearances at the convention but don't know how much of the time I'll be around. I'll probably completely miss some people I want to see just by not being around enough of the time to run into them by chance, but I'm counting on seeing a bunch of people anyhow.

I forgot to mention that the folks we performed for yesterday gave us homemade bread in thanks. It's yummy.

I'll try to write something more coherent and/or meaningful later, if I'm a little more awake then. And I'm still behind on email.

Apparently I look a lot like Jesus in my tan tunic -- not that I haven't heard that before in general (tall, bearded, brown-haired ... half-Greek so I look Mediterranean enough to be noticeable but WASP enough for the American, heavily WASP-influenced imagery ... the effect was more pronounced when I was younger) but it's been a long time since I've gotten that many comments about it in one day, and folks were mentioning the clothing in particular. I was amused, since the clothing style was about a thousand years off. Maybe I'm easily amused.
