Uh, did the Orioles win a home game a few minutes ago? I'm hearing lots and lots of distant explosions to the east, and when I went upstairs to check, I saw aerial fireworks approximately over the stadium.

I've been hearing a lot of illegal firecrackers nearer to home for the past week or two, and have seen very low-altitude aerial displays that seemed to originate one to three blocks south of here, but this looks like a professional, legal display (and it's alllll the way over on the other side of MLK, not in my neighbourhood). But it's been raining for a while ... I thought baseball stopped for rain?

(I don't follow baseball, or even watch it. Until someone took me to see a game in person, I didn't understand why anyone would watch it. (Playing it made sense to me, just not watching.) After that I understood, but I still don't watch it on television myself.)

Urk. Gonna attempt to crash so I can get up tomorrow for the gig (want to get there early, see other acts, eat lunch).
