The sound of an economy car getting stuck partway under an eighteen-wheeler (and, I think, getting dragged a short way based on where they ended up) is very different from the sound of two passenger cars striking each other.

(The semi is stopped partway through a left turn. It blocks both travel lanes and both parking lanes of Lombard Street.)

[ETA: The sound of the truck being backed off the car is ... disconcertingly screechy. (Actually, if I could count on all my readers to hear the French "an" sound in their heads when reading -- instead of the English "an" sound -- I would have attempted the onomatpoeia as "scranchy".)]

Argh. Feeling utterly craptastic (due largely to having my sleep patterns so [expletive]ing far out of whack it's not funny). Not going to predict what I'll be feeling well enough for a few hours from now. My cough has improved -- not gone away, but I'm consuming cough drops at a much less unreasonable rate. And pain levels are only in the constantly annoying range, not the completely distracting range. But I'm fuzzy-headed, clumsy, and zoning out. Let's see whether I manage to get to a point where I don't feel irresponsible piloting an automobile at highway speeds. I'm also feeling physically weak, but I can probably push myself on that count if I can get enough improvement on the other fronts.
