Unrelated Observation Of The Evening: I just got spam sent to my LiveJournal email addres. I wouldn't have noticed, except that they put my email address in the subject line, so I could spot that detail even as I was deleting it unopened.

Not exactly surprised, but I wonder how much other spam I've gotten was routed through there and I just didn't notice because I never looked at the headers.

I guess I should be counting my blessings and being glad I was able to get out to two things in two days -- on time to Monday's gig, and to more than half of last night's rehearsal -- instead of being surprised and upset about not feeling well enough to do diddly today. Especially given my body's recent pattern of needing a day or so to recover after each day that I get things done, and after the warning signs my body gave me when I got home last night.

Will focus on composing and coding and other things I can interrupt for a nap at any moment, and try to rest. Maybe tomorrow I'll have recovered the spoons I used up Monday and Tuesday. If the calendar would just slow down to my body's pace, I could cope so much better with this. Need to get to post orifice, among other errands.

Still clumsy today. Spilled about a cup and a half of sugar on the floor. Hope I got it all up. Not looking forward to having ants tell me otherwise. Think I got it all.

Oh, and if you're watching television news on a Baltimore station right now, and looking at arial views of the garage fire in southweat Baltimore, I can hear and see the television helicopters from here. I can't tell whether the smudge in the end-of-sunset colours is smoke from the fire or just a dark spot in the clouds though.

Okay, I'll play the "first line retrospective" meme, in which you're supposed to list the first sentence of your first journal entry of each month of 2005, but I cheated a bit because so many of my months started with an automated quote-of-the-day post. Once I started tweaking that much, I decided to tweak just a tad more, when an entry started with a parenthetical how-I'm-doing before getting to what inspired me to post in the first place. But you can read the results as though I'd just followed the rules absolutely if you like, as long as I haven't screwed up the table formatting ...

If the light bulb hadn't gone on with the idea of using 'wget' and 'lynx' to grab old entries for me instead of a lot of cutting-and-pasting, I would've decided this meme wasn't worth the bother.

had trouble deciding whether to lj-cut this or not, but since it's a meme ... )

Hmm. I tried to do that with a stylesheet and a "class='foo'" clause in the <td> tags, but that trick only appears to work if I can put a <style> block in the <head> of the page, which I don't have access to in a LiveJournal entry (for perfectly sensible reasons). I'm going to have to reread the CSS docs later to see whether there's a way to attach a stylesheet like that to a <div> block that I failed to figure out. At least I got to use a stylesheet for testing it before posting.
