My sleep patterns have gone pear-shaped. Last night I fell
asleep at 17:00, waking briefly around 1:00, and eventually
rising at 5:00; then I crashed again from 9:00 to 10:00 (when something
fell over in anoher room).
The hoped-for upside to this is that I'll be feeling
decently rested instead of crashy again when time for rehearsal
rolls around this evening. Knock wood, cross fingers, etc.
The downside, of course, is that a lot of stuff that
got put off until yesterday is now put off again.
For breakfast, I made something I've decided to call an
"egg indecision" unless I discover that it's already got
another name: a cross between an omelette and a frittata,
where some of the "fillings" (including nearly all of the
cheese) are stirred in before the eggs hit the skillet, and
the rest are folded inside omelette-style after the mixture
has cooked enough to have a cohesive shape. (Or is this just
an established omelette variant that I just don't encounter in
restaurants? I use roughly equal parts cheese and egg -- sometimes
a bit more cheese -- if that matters.)
This doesn't mean I can make omelettes yet -- I still need
more practice, and today's breakfast did fall apart as I was
folding it -- but I'm making progress on that front.
Hmm. On second thought, since it's a cross between a dish
with a Spanish-sounding name and one with a French-sounding
name, maybe I should pick a word from another romance language...
