From The Late Show With David Letterman, 2006-04-06, with guest Diablo Cody, author of Candy Girl: A Year in the Life of an Unlikely Stripper:
David Letterman: "Did it ever dawn on you that ... 'this is not the kind of fun that I thought I was going to be having?'"
Diablo Cody: "There were times when I caught a glimpse of myself in the cloudy mirror above the bed and thought to myself, 'Eww, this is kind of gross. My mother would cringe if she knew.' But uh, yeah, I got over that real fast."
David Letterman: "[...] How did you get over it? Was it just more fun than worrying ... to worry about it?"
Diablo Cody: "For me it was an adventure. Like I said, I've always been a geek, I've always been sheltered, I come from this nice, Catholic upbringing, so for me it was like anthropology. It was like being a naked Margaret Mead."
[I left out some instances of "y'know" and "uh" when I transcribed this.]
