Argh! The rear view mirror just fell off the windshield!

To others of my religion: Happy Easter! Χριστος Ανεστη! (Christ is risen!)
[Unless you're Orthodox, in which case I'll say this again for you in five weeks.]

"'Hope begins in the dark,' says author Anne Lamott. That's the miracle that Christians believe was made real through the resurrection, and a truth that has been proven through history. We can't talk ourselves or anyone else into having hope. We get there only by turning up in the darkness and doing the right thing. By choosing and honouring justice and love every time, hope has a chance to be born." -- Cheryl Lawrie, "Finding hope between death and resurrection", The Age, 2008-03-22

eftychia: Spaceship superimposed on a whirling vortex (departure)

I haven't been up to doing much physically today, so I stayed at the computer and gave in to the temptation to tease back at the folks who enjoy referring to Easter as "Zombie Jesus" day or pointing out that vampires also rise after three days. So in the spirit of good natured perverting-of-memes, I crafted a response using GIMP.

I couldn't find a horror-movie font with Greek letters so I had to improvise )

This evening I've been invited to Easter dinner next door, which shouldn't tax my supply of spoons too badly (and should be quite enjoyable). Fortunately my personal custom for Easter is also not very taxing: spending some time in quiet contemplation and prayer, and rereading a couple chapters of the Gospels. So with luck I won't tire myself out too much to make it to rehearsal tomorrow.
