"Almost anybody can learn to think or believe or know, but it's very difficult to learn to feel. Why? Because whenever you think or you believe or you know, you're a lot of other people: but the moment you feel, you're nobody-but-yourself.

"To be nobody-but-yourself -- in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else -- means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting."

Need to buy groceries and get nails fixed. But it hurts to move. Bleah. Maybe I'll feel better this evening; maybe I can get my nails done before going off to rehearsal tomorrow and buy groceries on the way back, if any of the 24-hour supermarkets I knew are still 24-hour now. (Broke one of my strumming nails off right at the if-I-trim-extremely-carefully-maybe-it-won't-hurt-much edge of the quick a few days ago, have been meaning to get to the nail salon since; another strumming nail needs less dramatic repair. Plumber spilled a cleaning solution into the half-used bag of cat litter, so I need to replace that before tomorrow night (trash night) regardless of how I can stretch the bread and cheese and chocolate I've got (not dire). And the two nearest formerly-24-hour grocery stores have cut their hours, so when I was feeling well enough last night they were already closed.)

When I went to bed this morning I had what looked like a solid plan for the day. Argh. Tomorrow.
