Well, really just 100.6 °F (down from 100.8 last night) but
still enough to be uncomfortable. I feel kitten-weak, minus all
the sharp bits.
My usual pattern is to get what starts off seeming to just be a
cold, then either develops into flu followed by a lingering,
annoying but not devastating cough, or skips the flu part and really
is just a cold which turns into a lingering mild cough.
This'n started off as an annoying tickle in the throat, and the
other symptoms didn't show up until the cough had already gotten
to the oh-fuck-my-ribs-hurt stage. I am not a happy camper.
And if I'd realized this was the start of something flu-ish,
not just an annoying throat-tickle, I would not have gone to HCB
rehearsal Wednesday. I really hope none of my bandmates catch
this from me. I also hope I can avoid passing it on to my mother
or my cat. (I figure a lot of these diseases aren't going to
jump between species much, but some do, and I think Perrine caught
a cold from me once before.)
Bleah. Let's hope this is one of those
two-days-of-misery-then-it's-over deals, not a ruin-your-month
thing like the flu followed by pneumonia last winter.
At least being sick at Mom's house means she can make a
vegetarian version of
soupa avgolemono for me, which means I'll actually eat
something despite my appetite being off (and it's good for
an irritated throat).
