[To my fellow Christians for whom this is a holy day (don't worry, old-calendar Orthodox folks; I'll get back to you) and the many other folks celebrating it as a secular-ish festival, Merry (first day of) Christmas^[*]! And a happy holiday to anyone celebrating Dies Natalis Solis Invicti (sorry I overlooked Saturnalia earlier) or Newtonmas, as well!]

[*] See, that's one of the (many) problems with the "Christmas season" starting in November or October -- by that reckoning we've had more than a month of buildup today and then it's over, when properly today is the start of Christmas, not the end.]
