Well would you look at that ... 90+ tabs open in a Javascript-disabled browser, 5 more tabs open in a different browser with Javascript enabled, Audacity, GIMP, and Quicktime all open (along with several Terminal windows, of course (but you guessed that because it's me)). CPU load at 100%, machine running hot, UI sluggish ...
Click the "print" button on one New York Times page to switch from the normal view to a see-all-the-text-better view, and the CPU load immediately drops to 25%.
Huh. Guess I'd better open NYT links in the no-Javascript browser from now on, huh? (And give up on IO9 completely, since that won't even load without Javascript, and I already knew opening a single IO9 page required my computer's full attention.)
