seen as something the author was expected to educate himself on.

on, 'is this a question of hate, or of ignorance, or a
combination', and It strikes me that the author is expected to
learn about golf clubs, but yet the 'trans panic' defense or high
rates of suicide in the trans community is not seen as something
that the journalist is responsible for knowing about." --
