I'm old. I just tried to wade through a long and complicated stylesheet (CSS) and thought: gee, this would be so much easier to read on fanfold, tractor-feed printout with coloured paperclips at the spots I keep wanting to flip back to, than it is on-screen and scrolling.

(I started writing this days ago, but everything in my life is happening in fits and starts, and this got buried when it got interrupted.)

Progress, in stages ... The medical exminer hasn't called to release my brother's body yet. Need to discuss memorial gathering options with my other brother and my sister-in-law. The reality -- and thus the grief -- sinks in a little bit at a time, day by day. The room Mark died in has been sanitized, and I'm really glad -- especially after watching how it was done -- that I didn't try to do that part myself.

Carol Schaubhut and her crew from Steri-Clean made things as pleasant as possible short of bringing Mark back to life. I hope I never have to deal with something like this again, but if I ever do, that's who I'd want to call. Kind, thorough, and willing to explain stuff. Very easy to work with. Definitely deserving of a bit of public appreciation from a satisfied customer.

They didn't have to cut out a chunk of the floor after all. *whew* I was prepared for that, but got lucky.

I still have 95% of a mattress and box spring to get rid of -- I'll be pinging the folks who offered help with that as I manage to get myself organized. (The contaminated bits have been cut out and hauled away in red bags.) That needs to be done but isn't as urgent as some other things, so I'll probably put it off til after Pennsic.

So ... progress, in bits and pieces.
