[Yesterday was the first Sunday in Lent for Western Christians. Today is Clean Monday, aka Ash Monday, the first day of Great Lent for Orthodox Christians. The two are counted slightly differently in that Great Lent is forty consecutive days, and Lent is forty not-Sunday days. Thus they wind up starting on different days of the week.]
