Still sorting out that filysystem damage. /home and /usr are still mounted read-only while I try to bring another drive online to copy them to so I can get all nitpicky[1] on the freelist to try to find my lost data. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with trial-and-error to discover the drive geometry of the new drive, and if I don't get it in the next half hour or so, it's going back to the store. There's a rant that goes with that -- I'll post it later. I've now missed a week of work. This is being an expensive summer that way. I am not happy.
[1] In the sense of "going over it with a fine-toothed comb", based on the etymology of "nit-picking" rather than the current usage (which is why I used "-y" instead of "-ing"). Not important; I just felt like phrasing it that way because it gave me something to footnote. One way of dealing with how incredibly frustrated I feel right now.
