eftychia: Me in kilt and poofy shirt, facing away, playing acoustic guitar behind head (Default)

Got finished with stuff I had to do here, but too late to reasonably go to the party I'd wanted to go to. Probably too tired to drive that far anyhow, unfortunately.

I caught this meme from [livejournal.com profile] figmo:

1. What's the first thing you remember wanting to be when you grew up? A race-car driver.
2. Describe a dream you remember: Waking up in the sleeping compartment of a one-man spaceship because various alarm buzzers and bells were going off simultaneusly ... I jumped out of my cot and stepped through the door to the control room (the only other rooms were the head and the airlock) and going from panel to panel silencing alarms -- correcting situations some were warning me about, telling others simply to shut up until I could get to them. But there was One Damned Buzzer that I could not silence, one flashing red light I couldn't make stop no matter what I tried. So I pulled out the ship's operating manual on microfilm, but as I was about to put it into the reader I dropped it and it rolled under a cabinet where I couldn't reach it.
3. What book are you reading? Between books. Just finished Nebula Awards Showcase 2002
4. What color are your sheets? Blue.
5. What song is in your head right now? "Designs On You" by the Old 97's.
6. Where are you? At home, in my office.
7. I am afraid of: Hurting someone. Losing a hand or my hearing.
8. Your dream job: Art photographer. (Wanna order one of my prints for your living room wall? Can you help me get my work into a gallery?)
9. What movie have you seen the most times? Not sure -- probably either "Le Roi de Coeur" or "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", but it could be "The Wizard of Oz" -- I lost track of how many times I saw that as a kid.
10. One question for Jesus, or Buddha or Muhammed, etc: How can I do the most good?
11. The guilty pleasure you'd really rather not admit to here: "Caroline in the City".
12. Comfort food of choice: Fried big chunks of potato.
13. What's the last video you rented? I don't remember. It was about five years ago. Possibly "Rosencranz and Guildenstern are Dead"??
14. Who do people say you look like? Jesus (not so much these days), Moses, Rasputin, and one of the Three Musketeers (not as much as when I had all my hair).
15. What's the bane of your existence? Poverty resulting from Fibromyalgia.
16. What's the last thing you found on the ground and picked up? A penny.
17. A writer worth reading: Shariann Lewitt.
18. Where would you like to grow old? Two answers spring to mind: "On a mountaintop in MD, VA, WV, or PA," and "On tour." "On the moon" was actually my first answer, but when I thought about it I realized that as much as I want to spend time off-planet, I want to grow old someplace with room to wander, great views, and weather, and within driving distance of large audiences.
19. A word of wisdom: Trust.
20. The question you get asked ALL THE TIME!!!: "Is that a religious costume?"
21. When was your last hospital visit? Uh, if going in to keep my brother company counts, then it was 2002-10-18. Otherwise it was four or five years ago.
22. The last thing you said out loud: "And you're going to check with the priest to find out whether flash photography is allowed, right?"
23. Current clothing: Black knit V-neck top with sequins around the neckline and slightly floppy sleeves slit at the wrist; brown velour mid-calf skirt with three tiers of slightly different textures; opaque black hose; mid-calf black boots with three-inch chunky heels; small gold cross; enameled guitar earrings.
24. Your favorite season: Autumn, by a rather wide margin.
25. In my past life I was probably: A frustrated poet.
