Still recovering from the long day I had Saturday at the Southern Maryland Celtic Festival. Was active yesterday just long enough to call my mother to wish her a happy Easter, and to leave messages on two Russian Orthodox friends' answering machines wishing them a happy Easter, and to chat with another friend for fifteen minutes or so. Today I woke up around 8:00 after a really restless sleep, was awake for a little while, figured I'd try for just a leeeeetle more sleep and then get dressed and run some errands, and wound up waking around 15:30, feeling groggy. So I'm still recovering. More about Southern Maryland later.

Woke up from a dream that involved meeting a bunch of in-laws-to-be and having a request thrown at me that I play Billy Joel's "Piano Man" the next day, and an evening of furiously filking two verses to throw in current-events references (the other verses were going to be sung straight). Oh, and finding the chords online so I could learn the song in the first place (on guitar, of course). The dream ended as I was getting ready to perform the next afternoon, still fine-tuning one verse. I thought, "I should get up and go to the computer and make sure I've correctly remembered the lyric I'm parodying," and trying to get up is what woke me.

Found a pink "Sorry We Missed You" slip from the Post Office, and am a) surprised that the doorbell didn't wake me, and b) suspicious that, as usual, the carrier just didn't bother to ring the doorbell. It's for a parcel, and the sender's name space on the slip is blank -- I've got no idea what should be coming. I also got my copy of the first issue of Other Magazine (I spent $12 of my state income tax refund on a subscription), so I'm going to take something for my headache and curl up with the magazine for a spell.

I'm thinking of devoting one VCR to recording a camera pointed at the front door every afternoon so that I can document whether the letter carrier even tries the doorbell before putting the "you were out" slip through the mail slot.

Mood:: 'groggy' groggy
