Not too surprisingly, the sunlight looks different on the north side of my house than on the south, especially since the sun is low enough in the sky this month for the shadow of this row of houses to reach all the way across the street at this hour. Looking out the front of my house, it's all November.
And as soon as I stood up from my desk, instead of hearing The Beatles in my head, I was back to humming "Edna Michael's Waltz" again. Man, is that a sticky melody. I should see if it's okay with Mike Stoddard (who wrote it) and the rest of the band (because it's going to be on our second CD) to put an MP3 and/or sheet music online so I can get it stuck in all of your heads as well.
Last night I tried playing it in 12th position on bass guitar, 'cause the sort of bell-like tones flatwound strings can give up there seemed like a cool thing to go with that melody.
