My new laptop has WinXP. I don't like it much either. It bugs me when it tried to be helpful and I don't want it to be helpful. I may not be a computer geek and know everything there is to know about computers, but I do know what I want it to do and when it tries to do things (to be helpful) that I don't want it to do I makes me frustrated.
