"The phrase 'in Christ' has always struck me a touch too literally. I have to stop myself from pondering where exactly in Christ's person one is expected to find oneself. His Divine Intestines? The Holy Spleen? In His Nostril? Up His... but anyway, you get the picture." -- [livejournal.com profile] leiacat, 2005-11-17

[Having this quote land on its author's birthday was a stroke of luck -- I'd been meaning to rearrange the queue to line up appropriate quotes with special days, but haven't gotten around to it yet.]

I have much the same reaction when I see the phrase "Assembly of God",
and I keep wanting to correct the phrase to "Sub-Assembly of God",
since I've seen more than one of them in my travels.

When I love someone truly, deeply, dearly and completelely, I go through a phase where I want to crawl utterly into them and just merge--cell to cell. I think that may be what others find in Jesus Christ. I don't, but that may be a similar experience.

*giggle*

Thank you. I won't go so far as to say that this made my day, but (now that I got around to noticing it), it certainly made it a bit brighter.
