Yesterday, [livejournal.com profile] dmk posted a request for donations for a (in my admittedly biased opinion) worthy cause: helping a mutual friend. She suggested I repost this here, since there are some folks who read my journal and not hers:

[livejournal.com profile] nosebeepbear needs a scooter [Friends-locked entry] to help her get around. [livejournal.com profile] madbodger has generously offered to buy one for her. We're pitching in a little for the scooter and possibly for a scooter-carrier that could be mounted to the rear of her car. She said that the "cost is between $1,200 and $6,000. The ones that look like they'll be the most useful for me are in the $3,500 range." A quick search for the scooter carrier found them to be under $1000.

If you'd like to help, too, please send a donation to [livejournal.com profile] madbodger. Contact him via jrehwin fgm com to make arrangements, or use that same e-mail address via PayPal ("Category of Purchase" = "Goods, other"; "Note" = "Scooter for Nosebeepbear").

Note to friends who don't know them: I personally vouch for both of them as Good People, and would trust them to the ends of the Earth. If you have a few bucks to spare, please help.

Thanks folks.

Having known both [livejournal.com profile] nosebeepbear and [livejournal.com profile] madbodger longer than a few people on my friendslist have been alive, I too can vouch for their being Good People.

By an interesting coincidence, I just donated to a friend/colleague of my wife to get her a scooter, as her mobility has become extremely impaired--so another friend/colleague in the dog-showing community is secretly gathering donations to get her a nice used scooter. :)

Thank you. From this statement, I'm also thinking we're Old People :).

And thanks for passing this on. It's wonderful to feel loved. It will be doubly wonderful to feel loved and be able to move around by myself :).

You should have been there to see [livejournal.com profile] madbodger's reaction to the post that led him to offer to pay for the scooter. It was priceless. As was watching his several repeats of [livejournal.com profile] nosebeepbear's reply, which he thought was cool and heartfelt at the same time. :)

I too will vouch for the worthiness of this cause and will dig into my pennyjar once I have finished paying off my debts to [livejournal.com profile] madbodger. At the moment I owe him my first born son. And considering I have no sons and have taken care of the issue of reproduction, that one will be hard to pull off.

Hope this helps people dig a little further into their pockets! :)

I don't think he'll take Shiva. Besides, I kinda like the bugger (after 2 years of his hellraising)...

Do I know [livejournal.com profile] nosebeepbear? Had she ever met Dr. Jane and Cindy?

I'm sure you know where I'm going with this....

If Dr. James hasn't gotten rid of Cindy's scooter, even though it's in California, since it's used, perhaps we have a match?
