I have a lot of friends. And some helpful and generous acquaintances in addition to generous friends. I have a lot of thank-you notes to write. It looks like there'll be enough to ransom the car and renew the tags, and I am grateful. Now from the panic-inducing to the merely annoying; I'm trying to line up a ride to the impound lot, and trying to stave off the latest wave of dizziness/fatigue (not having slept long last night, so I could call the fines&collections office as soon as they opened and still spend 55 minutes on hold, probably isn't helping with that, but oh well -- if I can rest tomorrow to get my body to cooperate for Saturday's gig ...).

I'll post here when I've got the car back in my posession, then I'll start on those thank-you notes.
