Wow, that was unpleasant. I woke up yesterday before dawn with some sort of stomach bug. Uncomfortable output from both ends of the digestive system, pain all over, only able to drink maybe half a liter of water (in very small sips) over twenty four hours because of the nausea, wondering at what point I should start to worry about dehydration, and having difficulty telling whether I was asleep or awake (I slept a lot, but the pattern, as near as I could tell, was 40-50 minutes asleep followed by 20-30 minutes awake). What struck me as odd was that until late last night, what was coming up was Sunday night's dinner -- I didn't think that'd still be in there that long. This morning I woke with severe back pain, wobbly knees, and a headache, but I seem to be able to swallow without immediately regretting it. (I'm hungry, but limiting myself to tentative snacks for now; my stomach still feels touchy.)
Perrine stayed in bed with me most of the time (occasionally getting kicked as I rolled over while disoriented, trying to find a less painful position), and was pretty hungry when I finally had the strength to work my way carefully down the stairs. She still had some food in her dish, but hadn't gone downstairs to eat it until I was well enough to go downstairs.
Dunno where I picked this up or what the incubation period is (but stomach nasties tend to start pretty quickly after exposure, right?). I'm still dizzy and weak; I think I'll postpone yesterday's errands until tomorrow. Whether I'll feel fit to drive by tonight is an open question; here's hoping I feel more steady by then.
I need another nap now; in my next period of wakefulness I'll write up the much more pleasant report of my weekend.

Hope you feel better soon.

Doesn't seem to be something from the Faire or Paper Moon on Saturday, because I'm fine, and as far as I know so is Breno. Well, we were both feeling too full yesterday but that was because a) Party until 5 am Saturday night, with associated consumption and b) German sausages Sunday afternoon.

And in the name of hormonal oneupsmanship, guess what other bio-treat accompanied all that? At least the dehydration decreased my usual output somewhat :-(
My stomach muscles haven't hurt like this since I gave birth.
Oy.
