Lights out, head on pillow ... and suddenly desiring to play bottleneck lap-dulcimer. Ah, the random firing of neurons, and the patterns emerging therefrom. But I have no dulcimer and this thought is probably just a sign of how much I really ought to be sleeping anyhow.

The mandolin is in the bed; maybe I'll play myself to sleep with that.
