I don't know how you feel about taking sleep aid medicine. Personally, I'm against it, but these last few days at the end of this pregnancy I've been sleeping so badly that I've reconsidered, because if I'm a sleep-deprived wreck BEFORE I have a baby, I'm just screwed.

Anyway, I'm taking doxylamine succinate, which is in the FDA's pregnancy category A, which NOTHING is in. Seriously, cat A is, like, Tums and oranges. (Category A is "well-controlled studies show no harm to mother or baby," and nobody does controlled drug studies on pregnant women any more.) It's actually an antihistamine, but it's powerfully sedative and incidentally a very effective anti-nausea drug as well.

I buy Rite-Aid's generic version, which is 32 tabs for. . . $4, or something, and I snap them in half. One-half of one gets me eight or nine good hours of sleep, lets me still wake up to pee, and supplies minimal muzz in the morning. *IF* you feel OK about taking medicine to help you sleep, I'd suggest checking this one out.
