The weather is getting colder and the days are getting shorter -- shouldn't my cat's coat be coming in instead of coming out?
Perrine just jumped up on my thigh and made "pay attention to me" gestures, responded approvingly to scritching, and left a clump of grey fur on my black skirt, already felted into a little lint-mouse, all in the space of twenty to thirty seconds. I thought that was a spring/summer trick. Power-shedding, a feline super-power (how many points is that worth in GURPS?).
Her coat does feel thick and soft. Cat-spit must be a really great conditioner.
And my oh my what sharp toes she has. Time to trim those claws, I guess.

If they shed to the point of bald spots there is something else wrong.

Funny, but my black cat never wants in my lap unless I'm wearing a light colored skirt or slacks.... lol

Roscoe's blowing out his summer coat, too - dogs and cats both go through it.

He was noted for two things, a sweet personality and unique shedding ability. He always shed in puffs. He would run down the hallway and little puffs would fly off behind him like little clouds of smoke. We called them "Scout Puffs".
