Awwww. As a spicy-food wimp, I feel very sorry for your poor cat.

I felt sorry for her too -- I kept apologizing and asking whether she was okay, as if she understood those phrases. The look on her face when she bolted ... I kept thinking about the time she burned her mouth on the scrambled eggs I gave her (I had only just let her into the house, and hadn't obtained any cat food yet). She avoided yellow foods for months after that.

The palak paneer wasn't quite spicy enough for me, but if I'd known she would do more than sniff I wouldn't have put it that close.

My human housemate is a spice-wimp too -- I didn't realize this when I offerred him a wasabi peanut at a gig. I must remember that when I offer him any of my cooking.

Dearlove,
Both you and James have an inordinate fondness for spicy hot food. I would've thought your housemate would, too. I guess one's degree of fondness for peppers is genetic. Like spelling. I do have a pepper in the fridge for you.
