A twofer today:

"Grief can take care of itself, but to get the full value of joy you must have somebody to divide it with." -- Mark Twain

"To have joy one must share it. Happiness was born a twin." -- Lord Byron

[Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans, a fine day for the sharing of joy! (Er ... and Happy Thanksgiving as well to folks in any other countries that celebrate a similar holiday on the same date we do. I'll confess that the only other Thanksgiving I manage to regularly keep track of is Canada's, and that's about a month earlier.)]

I looked up harvest festivals, but only found Sukkot and Mid-Autumn.

Well, Sukkot doesn't really have the same feel to it, but OTOH< The Hebrew of Thanksgiving, "Yom Hodu" has the double bonus of meaning both "Day of Thanks," and "Day of Turkey." If you're into Turkey. Andof course, one gets to quote psalms,
Hodu l'adonai ki tov" which could mean both, "Thanks to God for God is good," and also "urkey for God, beause it is good."
