It was worth closing down all my browser windows to install
the latest Javascript plugin on the bedroom Linux machine
(despite my continued vague distrust of Javascript, like Dr.
McCoy's unease about the Transporter), just to watch
this rant about Pachelbel's Canon in D (via

BTW, I met Rob a few years back when I was still living in NYC and he came to play a club in SoHo not far from my then-apartment. Real nice guy and fun as hell to watch live.

I was sitting there thinking about being in choir in high school and thanking my lucky stars that I sang soprano, and not bass, because the basses get all the equivalents of the cello part in the Canon in D. Eight notes repeated 54 times? Yep, sounds just like a bass part in any one of hundreds of choral songs I know...
