And the extra-in-joke-ness of the joke-within-a-joke from having someone in the show post in-character on the TwoP message boards, with details that would only make it clear that it was a character and not just some random member of the TwoP community until after everyone had seen the episode, bends the fourth wall into funny shapes, to boot!
