Well, if it's a sticky key setting, you should be able to disable it in.. hmm.. accessibility options? (And/or try pressing Shift for 8 seconds, that may turn it off.)
In Windows, try pressing the Shift key five times in a row, and then negotiating the Sticky Keys dialogue. Otherwise, try taking the shift key physically off and see if there's gunk underneath it, and/or if the mechanism underneath is physically stuck down.
