[…] I find myself wanting shift-lock just often enough to fondly remember the dumb terminal I used a long time ago that had both. (Hey dmk, it was one of the ones we used at UD, wasn't it? Do you remember? I think it was one of the CRTs, but I'm not 100% certain that it wasn't the DecWriter.
Hmm, it could have been the ADDS terminal, I suppose. Can you picture the keyboard? Remember, it was orange on gray. Oh, no, I remember those were CAPS ONLY; remember the utility someone wrote on the HP-3000 to make a CAPS-ONLY document print in some semblance of correct capitalization? Then there was the one newer terminal, but I can't picture that one well. Maybe someone else can remember the keys on the Decwriter II or III. OK, that link to the III shows a keyboard, and no shift-lock. I'm stumped. Let me know if you figure it out!
