Adding the pause at the beginning is fairly simple in ImageReady. (Open the animated GIF. Select the first frame in the timeline and set the time you want. Lather, rinse, repeat. Save.) I dunno about other software, but that's what I've got, and use. ($MYFIRSTNAME AT pipeline DOT com)

Aha! So it can be done, and easily, but I just haven't figured out to do it using the tools I have yet.
I'd been meaning to make a Perrine icon for a while, partly to have an appropriate one to use when writing about her and partly to provide everyone non-local with an image to go with the name. Getting the yawn video kicked that up a few places on the to-do list. :-)
