As an aside, what I could read of the article is actually far more interesting. Does God demand/desire poverty of the devout? Judaism has typically answered "no." Neither wealth nor poverty is particularly valuable in and of themselves. Christianity, by contrast, has generaly assigned a positive value to poverty, but this is far from universal and very nuanced.
