Mmmh, no, not exactly. There's something in potatoes that could be good if it weren't drowned out by whatever else is in potatoes that doesn't taste good. To be more specific, probably what I like is the starchy taste, and what I don't like is the soily aftertaste.

Jerusalem artichokes do, in fact, taste somewhat like potatoes. However, they also taste the way potatoes should taste -- less like dirt, more like food.

Try the now somewhat overexposed Yukon Golds (not raw) they atually are very unpotatoey. I do like potatoes, sometimes, although I find them a bit starchy (I am probably very odd - I don't much love bread, either, except for very rich, heavy, sweet breads, or else covered over with something -i.e. a sandwich. Although I do like rice. Go figure), but YGs are quite tasty in my opinion. SO are the blue ones, and I also like the Russian bananas. Actually now that I think about it, what I like are heirloom varieties, which like most heirloom varieties, taste far superior to what you normally get at the grocery.
