For some reason, it kinda reminded me of this, which I also saw today, even though when I actually looked at it, they're not that similar.
I think it probably is pokeweed; it sprouts up in our yard and garden sometimes. The berries do seem to be around for quite a while; I don't know if it's just that the same thing that makes them poisonous to us makes them not taste as good to birds, or if it's just that there are a lot of them. Maybe both.
The lobes are pretty funky-looking. They may be flower petals, but I'd guess that they're sepals, and the petals have dried up and fallen off.
