My LJ paid time is expiring soon, and for reasons I'll get into in more depth later (yes, related to various actions by Six Apart this year) I do not plan to renew. I'm also not willing to switch to a 'plus' account and support them with ads, which means cutting back to six icons. I'm currently using fourteen (on the services that allow that many; not on Blurty), and trying to decide which ones to keep on LiveJournal. On InsaneJournal and CommieJournal I'll continue using all fourteen (I think I'm only using ten on GreatestJournal.)
Another feature I'll lose on LJ is, of course, the ability to create polls. So what the heck, one last poll before I have to modify my posting script to treat the various sites differently, eh?
(Folksd reading this on one of the other services, go ahead and answer if you have an opinion; while only my LJ account is losing icons, which ones I can use everywhere will be a factor in picking which icon to use on any particular entry.
I reserve the right to make up my own mind when all is said and done, but I'm curious as to what other folks think. So:
[Poll #1069283]And I'll also get to find out what happens to an existing poll when paid account status goes away while people are still filling it out.

I'm going to continue using SaveMyNation on GJ/IJ/CJ but I guess there won't be too much identity-confusion if you use it on LJ while I use it on the other sites.
(In hindsight, I wonder whether a picture of the Constitution would've worked better than a flag, considering what recent threats to the country have seemed most prominent.)

When I first made the Perrine icons I guessed that some people wouldn't like animated icons in general, and the still version was so that I could use a picture of her (and sort of refer to the animated version thereby, for folks who'd already seen the animation) without inflicting animation on everyone every time I wanted. With more icon-slots available than I was ever going to fill, that seemed easy enough...
I'm still trying to make up my mind between my own fondness for the animated version and the desire to not throw animation around too often.
