That such a misreading was a cause for worry calls to mind various "Oh my God can you imagine if Glenn had kids?" conversations various groups of friends have had since I was in college. For some reason, visualizations of crossdressing toddlers with full beards is a common reaction.
(If I did have a child, I would have to make them a fake beard just to make the folks who've participated in those conversations twitch. :-} Hmm. Maybe I can borrow somebody else's toddler for a photo shoot.)
