Don't worry about the cost, evidently I spent .99 for all three total, and it's worth more than the buck I'll spend just to not have it sitting there. (I don't know what I thought I'd do with three more!) It's actually DirectTV branded, but it works exactly like a regular remote. Do you have a Tivo manual, too? Which Series 2 do you have?

The manual just says it's a "Series2" TiVo, as does the lettering on the front of the unit. The sticker on the back panel says it's model TCD540040. I don't know yet what size hard disk it has (or did the Series2 all ship with the same size drive?). I guess I should Google that model number ...

That means its a 540, (newer model) 40 hour, which means it can hold 40 hours at lowest quality.

If you didn't know already, it's pretty trivial to upgrade to a larger hard drive if you've got an intel box sitting around. I can dig out more details if'n yer interested.
