There's a commecial for a urinary control drug that features a species of water-balloon creature touring through European-style venues (all built to scale) and flying on aircraft. My first thought was how those balloons got through their lives with no hands? Who were the first tool-using water balloons? Did they stem from the same fluidic-based lifeforms as DS-9's Odo? If so, were the balloons a cultural thing or a hygenic conventionalisation for preventing the spread of fluid-borne diseases? And are they related to the race that lives inside of the animated plumbing-people in the VesiCare® commercials?
