My spring allergies are not generally severe enough to require drugs, but this year has been bad and I had to dive into the Claritin. I do so reluctantly because I, too, have the problem of antihistimines not working after a while. Claritin is the last one that I can take that I haven't already used up, so I sniffle some in the spring and summer and save it for the really bad three weeks in August, to avoid risking things being a lot worse.
Of course, it's possible that by now the first drugs I took, that I developed immunities to, have reset by now. My bigger problem is that most antihistimines are incompatable with glaucoma.
