Glass engraving is cool. I used to do art etchings on Plexiglas both with an electric tool and a stylus. I chose plexi precisely because I was paranoid about all the glass leavings. I plan to get back to it one of these days. The toughest part though is finding or creating the right image to work up; it's a lot of detail and I don't want to screw it up because that would keep me from doing the next one.
